With the arts coming right to your doorstep this weekend, you can easily catch a free mini musical on your way to lunch at Bedok Town Square, or stop by an eco-friendly arts festival when you are downtown.

The Nursery Rhymes Project

This free, family-friendly, mini Mandarin musical features playfully reinvented nursery rhymes with music arrangements by leading homegrown musician Julian Wong. It also includes short stories by Singapore Mandopop lyricist Xiaohan. Details here.

Literary Arts
SingLit Xcape

This escape room experience, with a literary bent and targeted at children, will, as with other similar games, have participants digging around for clues and solving puzzles. But as a bonus, participants might also leave the game with newfound interest in learning and reading. This event is conducted in Mandarin. Details here.

Don Quixote

Classical ballet can be riotous fun and the Singapore Dance Theatre’s performance of the well-loved Don Quixote promises to leave audiences dazzled by the dancers’ virtuosic performance and exquisite costumes. Details here.

Animation Alive

Enjoy a free and fun-filled music performance in the grand Esplanade Concert Hall with the AudioImage Wind Ensemble. The group will perform pieces from popular animated TV shows and movies, including Disney cartoons and animated works such as Pokemon and The Incredibles (2004). Details here.

Craft Workshops By Mural Lingo

Try your hand at stencil art and decorating a tote bag, or drawing with natural pigments, extracted from fruit and plants, on the site of the eco-friendly music and picnic festival, Garden Beats. The art workshop is led by Mural Lingo, a Singapore-based social enterprise that focuses on the arts, education, and publishing. Details here.
